 Rehabilitation Department
The Rehabilitation Department of Liberty Regional Medical Center offers Physical, Speech and Occupational therapy services to both inpatients and outpatients. Rehabilitation offers individualized treatments that strive to minimize disability, relieve pain, increase independence and return the patient to their highest level of functioning. We require a physician's order for patients to be seen. All treatment sessions are scheduled by calling 912-369-9408. We treat all age groups and appropriate conditions.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy is staffed by a full time licensed Physical Therapist and a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant and offers: electrical stimulation, gait training, hot & cold packs, iontophoresis, massage, muscle testing, myofacial release, manipulation, mobilization, prosthetic training, therapeutic exercise, traction (pelvis and cervical), ultrasound, phonophoreses, vasopressure and evaluation.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy is staffed by a part time Certified Occupational Therapist and offers: activities of daily living training, cognitive retraining, community and work re-entry, contrast both, electrical stimulation, functional activities, hot & cold packs, iontophoreses, joint mobilization, massage, neuromuscular re-education, orthotic training, paraffin bath, theropeutic exercise, ultrasound, phonophoresis and splint fabrication.
Speech Therapy
Speech Therapy includes treatment for communication, language and swallowing disorders. Problems may have existed from birth, illness, accident or disease. Speech pathologists use computer technology, speech or language exercises and special training to develop effective communication and swallowing skills.
